Disneyland’s 70th Birthday

A big celebration began at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California. The famous place opened as Disneyland in 1955. It turned70 years old on July 17. To celebrate the special day, they updated(更新) the park, adding new shows, an art exhibit and other special features. The celebrations will run through summer 2026.

There are 12 Disney theme parks around the world, but Disneyland was the first. Walt Disney, who created Mickey Mouse, built it. He was also a famous TV and film maker. He wanted visitors to feel as if they were in his film worlds.

Starting from May 9, visitors could see changes to the famous“It's a Small World”attraction. It's a boat ride that goes through areas representing different countries. Now characters from the film Coco appear in the Mexico part.

At night, there is a new parade (游行) at Disneyland. It has more than 1 million LED lights. There is also a World of Color Happiness! show. It is hosted by Inside Out characters. A theme song, Celebrate Happy, made for the celebrations, plays at the park. The name of the song fits the park's longtime nickname(绰号),“The Happiest Place on Earth”.
