Paddle‑boarding Rescue

One Monday evening, Avery Bryan and Eva Aponte went out to go paddleboarding (冲浪舟运动) together. But before long, their fun outing turned into something dangerous. The girls didn't come back hours later, so it was clear that something was wrong.

Rescuers were told about the missing girls. A lot of groups started to look for them. The local police tried their best to find these missing teens. Some volunteers also took part in the search. The search went on even when night came.

The next morning, three volunteers finally found them. Alex Jeffries, Russ Coon, and Will Pauling started searching at 8 am. They found the girls in just 30 minutes. The girls were brought to the shore quickly. The girls spent a cold night on the waters, but they looked okay.

"When we found them, their feet and hands were cut up," Will shares. "I think they kind of got washed in with the low tide, which might help them stay in one place."

By the time the girls were rescued, they had drifted very far from the shore. In fact, it's said that they were about 14 miles away from Cedar Key. Doctors checked them at a hospital. Their injuries were not serious.

Needless to say, both of their families have expressed many thanks for the rescuers' help in rescuing the girls!
